Limited Space Available

Here at MTA, we always want to support our amazing educators who make up most of our production team. As the #RedforEd movement continues and a walk out is in place for Thursday, April 26th, we want to be here to support our amazing community as they have supported us for the past 10 years. We will be offering Theatre Thursday day care services at MTA from 8:30 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. on April 26th.

Throughout the day we will play theatre games, sing, dance, and watch MTA shows on the big screen. MTA staff will include Jessy Kishbaugh, Tor Tjorhom (who will also be running lights and sound for a dance party) and Lyndsie Clymer (who will teach a special 1 hour dance choreography class). Pizza and bottled water will be provided for lunch and is included in the entry fee! We are asking a $50 entry fee for the day, with a 10% sibling discount. Sibling discount on 2nd and more registrations will be refunded via PayPal within 24 hours of payment received.
100% of the proceeds from this event will go to our Moving Campaign Fund.

Please Note, pre-registration is required. The registration fee will be fully refunded if the scheduled teacher walk out does not take place on Thursday, April 26th.

If your child has not been in an MTA show after June 2017, please print and complete this form as it will be required at check-in Thursday morning. (You can skip the special interest/skills section)

Help connect MTA to businesses or individuals to ensure a healthy future!

MTA’s doors are open to not just entertain the community but to give the talented youth of our community a safe and fun place to share their talents, learn and have fun. It is not just another business, but an important part of Anthem. Without it, there would not be a stage for many of our young performers to perform on outside of their schools. The non-profit’s founders, Jackie and Jeff Hammond, are proud of the decade-long success of watching the community’s youth thrive and grow under its roof.

At the end of 2017, we were informed that our current lease would be raised by 23%. This increase would have MTA shutting its doors at our current location as it was not possible to sustain the cost. The board, led by Jackie and Jeff Hammond, tried their best to renegotiate with our landlords, offering smart-minded business options for a win for both sides. The landlord was unwilling to work with us or adjust the increase. Because of that, in more words or less, it kicked us out of our current space.

We dove in to find new options that would not only allow us to keep MTA’s doors open but to ensure that our next home would be a location that we could afford and grow in.

In February, a space was identified and that means that MTA will say goodbye to our home of 6 years over this spring/summer.

But MTA isn’t just moving, we’re growing. Here are just a few details about our new space:

  • 600 sq feet of additional space
  • A more spacious lobby
  • A larger rehearsal space and black box
  • More seating in our new theater
  • Doors on both sides of the auditorium to allow for easier entrances and exits by our audience

While all of this is positive news, we still need your support in ways we have not asked of our amazing families and supporters before to ensure this outcome.

To help cover the cost of our tenant improvement build out and these upgrades at our new space, located at 42201 N 41st Drive near Ray's Pizza, the new landlord has offered to pay a large percentage of the construction costs, which is great news!

However, our rent is still increasing by approximately 13% from our current rate with MTA still being responsible for over $40,0000 in hard costs before we can make the move. By the time you have read this, MTA will have already paid the initial $12,000 to keep everything moving. To ensure the continued health of MTA, we are hoping to raise $70,000 by the beginning of the summer. Lowered to $65,000 due to a check received for the Box Office Sponsorship!

We know how much many of you already give from volunteer hours to our Terrific 20 and Super Terrific 20 to participating in our programs. For a decade, your support has made MTA what it is and we can’t thank you enough.

This ask is different.

This is an ask to ensure that MTA’s future is secured for you, your children and other families in the future.
While any amount can help us, we are looking for supporters to help us secure the bright future we are reaching for with significant gifts. From naming the theater after your family or business to season subscriptions for life, we hope to secure the following supporters:

Or consider one of these larger asks yourself.

Please talk to Jackie and Jeff Hammond or any board member if you are interested in one of these levels of support or if you know a business or individual who we should pursue with an ask.
